Is the product safety expert for my company a compulsory requirement?
Yes, the product safety expert is a mandatory requirement from a variety of your customers to your company. If you have not yet named a PSB, this is now necessary. Often, due to the overlapping tasks, the responsible person for quality (QM, Q-chief, etc.) is named. Please do not leave the entry open. A VDA guideline, which is to be complied with especially for the automotive sector, is provided by VDA
Is the product safety expert about an OEM requirement?
No, the information about the product safety expert is not only an OEM demand (i.e. VW or BMW), but is a general requirement of the German Association of the Automotive Industry. The purpose of components, especially concerning our customers, are subject to confidentiality and therefore will not be published.
Hence, please appoint a product safety expert in the questionnaire.
What are the financial requirements and will they be treated confidentially?
This information is required in the context of your customers risk management. They are used to assess the business risk of cooperation, especially in the case of new projects. It is not about certain regulatory limits, but about the knowledge of the key figures.
The data is kept confidential within SupplyOn and is accessible to customers who use SupplyOn with their vendors.
Why is the large number of different contacts required?
Due to an increasing complexity, it is necessary to find the right contact person for the cooperation partner/supplier quickly and effectively. This also aims to improve processes or coordination and shorten reaction times. OEMs are placing specific queries in the supply chain more often, which can then be answered in a target-oriented manner.
