The 8D report evaluation displays the quality of a content of an 8D report. The supplier can evaluate and comment on the 8D steps according to predefined criteria and a customer-specific evaluation scheme.
How to create an 8D report evaluation
In step 8D, you can find information about "8D report evaluation". The link shows if the evaluation can be entered optionally ("optional") or if it was requested by the customer ("mandatory").
- You can display the evaluation by clicking the link "8D report evaluation".
- Select a radio button for your evaluation of the step. The points and the overall result will be displayed.You can add a comment to each category, e.g. to give reasons for your selection.
- In some cases, a text in the comment field indicates which information is needed.

Note: to view all categories, click the link "Expand all".
- Confirm your entries by clicking on the button "OK".
- The evaluation data will be submitted to your customer when submitting the steps D7, "Completed by supplier" and "Closed by supplier".
Further information
If the evaluation is optional: the evaluation must be completed in status "Closed by supplier", if it has been started. Click on the link "Reset entries" to delete the evaluation data.
If the evaluation is mandatory: the evaluation must be completed in status "Closed by supplier".
The evaluation data is also displayed in the PDF download. If it has been submitted to the customer, it will be also contained in the history.
Customer evaluation
Once the 8D report is completed, the customer can also evaluate the 8D report according to the same criteria and publish the result via Problem Solver. The customer's information is displayed in the 8D evaluation table, alongside with the supplier's information.
This way they can be easily compared.
